Ati Radeon Hdmi @ Ati Rv710 730

On the first boot GNOME 3 failed to load. The installer recognized my video card and installed the correct package, xserver-xorg-video-radeon, but as documented on the wiki my card requires proprietary firmware. This firmware is available in non-free. The steps to install it are,

To patch HDMI taken a fresh kext from 10.8.3, but failed. HDMI pins seems similar to you. Tried both radeon default codec id - as you said -268610049 & mine 268610104 (0x1002aa38). Only one thing no device entry on audio, but can increase or decrease volume(of what don't know )!!!

So from my view it seems that the hardware are not changing or auto selecting as I think it should. I have to plug the headphones in select the hdmi from the hardware tab to off then when I remove the headphones I have to set the HDMI back to on then go to the out put tab and then select the hdmi for my monitor.

No never fully tested in windows. I left windows 5 years ago when to fedora learned about Ubuntu went to Zorin and after my system crashed I went linux mint. Mit was alot more forgiving as all I had to do was double click the audio when the headphones were plugged in and when I want to switch back double click the hdmi.

Thanks for all your help I learned a lot this time around this issue hasplagued me for a while now. I was so happy when I got to use hdmi and videoI ditched my speaks real quick. I think I that was a bad idea but let seewhat the future holds

Otherwise, you're stuck using experimental hacks to various hypervisors trying to make things like this work using paravirt PCI-passthrough support. Xen claims to support using radeon cards in guests that are non-primary (and hidden using their PCIback driver). They also claim to be able to passthrogh an intel card to a guest even if its the primary card on the host. I personally never got it to work. NVidia cards are always harder to deal with in this case due to lack of documentation. It's quite possible that VMWare, KVM, or virtualbox may have better support for this, i don't know.

radeon is a family of open source graphics drivers for older AMD/ATI Radeon graphics cards. Cards based on Graphics Core Next (GCN) 2.0 "Sea Islands" are also fully supported by the newer AMDGPU driver, which also features experimental support for GCN1.1 (Southern Islands). Neither this nor the AMDGPU article cover installation and configuration of the closed source drivers (see the next paragraph).
